I was born in Toronto many years ago, and somehow ended up attending the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario, where I graduated with a BA in Economics and then went off to train as a pilot.
After a sufficient number of harrowing adventures, culminating with a stint as Search and Rescue command pilot on helicopters out of Comox, British Columbia, I decided to shift gears, dust off my degree, and find a safer way to earn a living.
I earned my insurance and securities licenses over 20 years ago, and feeling very uneasy about the implications of investing in stock markets that included manufacturers of land mines, nuclear weapons, and handguns, not to mention sweatshop labor and the like, I decided to focus entirely on socially responsible investment as a tool for my clients to match their values with their savings.
My passion is basketball, whether playing it, coaching it, or cheering on his beloved Toronto Raptors. I love pretty much anything to do with the outdoors – camping, gardening, boogie boarding in Tofino, cycling and skiing are favorites. I married my incredible wife Nicola on the Wild Pacific Trail outside Ucluelet. Hosting and cooking big family dinners are another favourite activity.
My core tenet is to treat everyone the way you would want to be treated yourself and I hope to leave the world at least a little bit better off than when I first arrived on the scene.
My goal is to work closely with you, the client, to understand your personal circumstances and create an investment portfolio that meets your long-term objectives.
I have been in the investment industry since 1999 and joined Leede Jones Gable in 2004. Prior to Leede Jones Gable, my career started at Levesque Beaubien (National Bank Financial) and I continued to build my business at BMO Nesbitt Burns. For over five years I was also an instrumental part of Leede’s Syndication and Corporate Finance department.
Outside of business, my favourite activities include spending time with my family, coaching sports, golfing and snow shoeing.
The most important aspect of an investment portfolio is that it is designed to meet your individual needs as the client. I spend a great deal of time and focus on understanding how I can manage your long-term goals and cash flow requirements. Although my clients may be at various stages in life, the parallel for all clients is a relationship based on trust.
